About the Opportunity
AfriSam is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for a Buyer position based in Roodepoort, Gauteng. The successful candidate will support procurement activities, supplier management, and inventory processes while ensuring efficient purchasing operations.
Main Duties
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing purchasing requisitions within the required turnaround times.
- Processing and tracking purchase orders.
- Monitoring procurement activities and supplier performance.
- Preparing reports on purchasing expenditure and vendor performance.
- Maintaining procurement records and inventory information.
- Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve procurement-related queries.
- Supporting supply chain and procurement process improvements.
- Contributing to transformation and supplier development initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- A qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field.
- Between three and five years of procurement experience.
- Previous experience within construction materials or manufacturing environments will be advantageous.
Skills Required
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with inventory management principles.
- SAP knowledge is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
