FIRE FIGHTER TRAINEE<\/p>\n

(18 Months Fixed Term Contract: Stipend: R5000.00 Per Month)<\/p>\n

CLOSING DATE: 21 December 2023 not later than 16h30<\/p>\n

No municipal benefits will apply (pension, medical aid, etc.) and applicants are required to make their own arrangements in respect thereof.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n

\u25cf Grade 12 Certificate
\n\u25cf Fire Fighter I and II Certificates
\n\u25cf Hazmat Awareness & Operations
\n\u25cf Valid First Aid Level III or BAAA
\n\u25cf Medical Certificate of fitness
\n\u25cf Disaster Management Qualification will be added as advantage
\n\u25cf Be physically fit and able bodied
\n\u25cf May be expected to undergo a fitness test
\n\u25cf Ability to communicate in both English and Isizulu
\n\u25cf No Criminal record or pending cases
\n\u25cf Must not be more than 35 years of age
\n\u25cf Code C1 driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS<\/p>\n

\u25cf React immediately to fire station bell to respond to fire
\n\u25cf Attend emergency medical and hazardous substances incidents.
\n\u25cf Ensure compliance with all statutory legislations and Council policies\/procedures\/standards to ensure optimum management of fire fighting.
\n\u25cf Attend rescue and emergency\/disaster operations.
\n\u25cf Clean and test of fire fighting and medical equipment.
\n\u25cf Perform administrative duties including the completion of incident reports and reporting of equipment and defects.
\n\u25cf Attend to the efficient care and maintenance of all assets of fire fighting and emergency services section.
\n\u25cf Perform fire safety inspections.
\n\u25cf Carry out fire fighter and emergency activities at incidents to ensure the safety of fire fighting and others, with the prime objectives being lives and property<\/p>\n
