Be in<br \/>\npossession of a Senior Certificate or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded<br \/>\non the National Learner Record Database on NQF level 4. Registration with<br \/>\nthe Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA). Be in possession<br \/>\nof at least a Grade C security certificate. Not declared unfit to possess a firearm. Be willing to undergo firearm competency training. Be willing to maintain<br \/>\nfirearm competency. Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which<br \/>\none must be English. Be a South African Citizen. Must have no criminal record<br \/>\nor pending criminal \/ departmental cases. Degree \/ Diploma in the field of<br \/>\nsecurity will be an added advantage. Applicants will be subjected to a vetting<br \/>\nprocess which will include security screening and fingerprint verification.<br \/>\nRelevant courses in the field of the post as well as a valid driver\u2019s license for<br \/>\nat least a light motor vehicle will serve as an advantage. Be willing to work<br \/>\nshifts and extended hours.<br \/>\nDUTIES : Execute Access Control in terms of the Control of Access to Public Premises<br \/>\nand Vehicles Act (Act No. 53 of 1985). Positive identification of employees,<br \/>\nvisitors and contactors at the security access point. Registering of employees,<br \/>\nvisitors and contractors, electronic searching of employees, visitors and<br \/>\ncontractors. Authorize entry in to the premises to employees, visitors and<br \/>\ncontractors after complying with all the legislative requirements, confirm visits<br \/>\nwith the hosts and ensure escort in line with the prescripts, issue admission<br \/>\ncontrol cards to visitors and receive them back. Keep the necessary visitor\u2019s<br \/>\nregister. Check suppliers, articles and objects, where necessary, before they<br \/>\nare allowed to be brought into the premises to ensure that the safety of the<br \/>\npremises will not be threatened. Patrol buildings and fenced-off areas. Guard<br \/>\n175<br \/>\nvehicles workshops and equipment in the field \u2013 ONLY from a security point of<br \/>\nview. Check all security equipment and facilities and take action, when<br \/>\nnecessary. The Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act, Act 37<br \/>\nof 2013 requires that all new appointments in the South African Police Service<br \/>\nas from 31 January 2015 provide a buccal (inside cheek) sample in order to<br \/>\ndetermine their forensic DNA profile. The forensic DNA profile derived from the<br \/>\nsample will be loaded to the Elimination Index of the National Forensic DNA<br \/>\nDatabase. All short-listed candidates will be subjected to fingerprint screening<br \/>\nand reference checking.
