\nSALARY : R124 434 per annum

\nREQUIREMENTS : Minimum educational qualification: General Education and Training Certificate
\n(GETC)\/Grade 9 (Std 7). Experience: Appropriate experience. Inherent
\nrequirements of the job: Willingness to work in any department within CPD (CSSD
\n& Gas). Willingness to work shifts including weekends, public holidays and night
\nduty. Competencies (knowledge\/skills): Ability to communicate effectively (verbal
\nand written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
\nGood interpersonal relations skills. Ability to work in a co-operative way within a
\nteam context and willingness to be rotated within the CPD department. Basic
\nunderstanding of disinfection, decontamination and sterilization.
\nDUTIES : (key result areas\/outputs): Effective application of sterilisation processes and
\ntechniques and promote\/adhere to infection control as well as health and safety
\nregulations. Decontaminate, pack and sterilise instruments linen and supplies.
\nAssist with cleaning and testing of sterilisation equipment, washing machine and
\nautoclaves, lift-up and pushing heavy equipment. Maintain equipment in an
\noptimum working condition and utilisation of resources. Use autoclaves, washing
\nmachines and equipment\/consumables in a cost effective manner. Monitor,
\ncontrol and maintain adequate stock levels, report and assist with investigation of
\nlost instruments\/equipment.
