\nSALARY : R147 459 per annum (Level 4)
\nCENTRE : Theewaterskloof Dam
\nREQUIREMENTS : A Grade 8 certificate. One (1) to two (2) years\u2019 experience in general maintenance
\nand repair work at bulk water infrastructures. A valid driver\u2019s license (Attach a
\ncopy). Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures. Basic
\nknowledge in controlling and maintaining bulk water supply infrastructure and
\ngrounds. Basic knowledge of routine inspection on equipment and grounds. Basic
\nunderstanding of Public Administration and Government legislation. Good
\ncommunication, reading and writing skills. Basic knowledge of sluices and valves.
\nWillingness to work shifts, overtime and perform standby duties, including on
\nweekends and public holidays. Must have the ability to perform under pressure.
\nWork outside in adverse weather conditions, on structures with steep steps and
\nvertical ladders. Work in confined spaces accessible through manholes with poor
\nlighting and little ventilation prevail.
\nDUTIES : General maintenance and repairs at bulk water infrastructures and construction
\nequipment. Basic repairs to damaged equipment. Refer equipment to other
\nservice providers for repairs. Conduct general routine inspection and general
\nmaintenance of grounds and equipment. Supervise subordinates on a regular
\nbasis. Keep water measurement structures and surroundings clean and reports
\ndefects. Ensure equipment and grounds are in good condition. Keep record and
\njob cards of maintenance work.
