Apply for a job at the City
All job vacancies at the City are listed in our job search app.
To apply for a job, first register for e-Services, activate the Careers service and create your online CV. You can then find a position through our job search app, and apply.
Executive careers
If you are an experienced professional or have scarce and highly needed skills, you can apply for an executive position within the City.
EPWP employment database
We offer temporary work opportunities as part of our Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). Anyone can apply, including people with disabilities.
To access these opportunities, please register on the EPWP jobseekers database at your local subcouncil office.
You will need to take along your CV and ID, or valid work permit.
Apply for work experience
If you are a high school learner or university student you can job shadow a City staff member, while university students can also apply for vacation or field work.

Apply for a bursary
You can apply for a bursary if you are a full-time student at an approved tertiary institution. You must also be registered for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or diploma in one of our approved scarce skills fields.
